Where notifications appear

• Bell icon (web & mobile): shows unread items such as new check-ins from family members, magic link sign-in confirmations, or invitations waiting for approval.
• Email digests: optional weekly summaries cover progress milestones, expiring streaks, and any overdue tasks a parent should review.
• Push prompts (optional): enable browser or device notifications to receive real-time nudges when a family member shares a moment or a goal is about to lapse.

Managing notification settings

1. Open the avatar menu and choose Account Settings.
2. Switch to the Notifications tab.
3. Toggle channels (in-app, email, push) for each category:
   • Activity reminders
   • Family approvals and join code updates
   • Progress milestones and achievements
   • Billing and subscription alerts
4. Save your changes — settings apply immediately across all devices.

Pro tip: Use Quiet Hours to mute alerts during bedtime or school hours. You can set different schedules for weekdays and weekends.

Clearing and acting on notifications

• Tap any notification to jump straight to the relevant page (e.g., approving a join request opens the Family Workspace).
• Swipe or click “Mark as read” to clear single items, or press “Clear all” after you have reviewed everything.
• Important system messages (such as billing failures) remain pinned until resolved to ensure you never miss a critical update.
